CHEMIN NEUF, KINSHASA: HELPING STREET CHILDREN TO HAVE A FUTURE

Chemin Neuf is a Christian community with centres all over the world. Since 2003 there has been a Chemin Neuf community house in Kinshasa in the Democratic Republic of Congo. In the city there are 25,000 street children. Chemin Neuf set up a local charity which operates many services to help street children and their families:
  • protection and assistance in the streets
  • welcome and reconstruction
  • reunification with families
  • foster families and accommodation centres
  • school education and vocational skills training
  • support and stabilisation
  • economic support and small business development
  • lobbying and campaigning to promote child rights
  • monitoring and evaluation
David Rosselli is supporting Chemin Neuf by:
  • visiting each year (2013-2018)
  • providing a detailed report on achievements made & improvements needed
  • preparing an annual evaluation report for Comic Relief
  • supporting organisation development and change management

In 2016 David contributed significantly to the final evaluation report to Comic Relief at the end of three years of grant funding. This made it possible for Chemin Neuf to be considered for repeat funding. David supported the Chemin Neuf team's bid and they were successful in obtaining a further three years of funding.
