The conceptual framework used is the GROW model:
- Goals: clarifying and setting specific goals
- Reality: exploring and understanding the current situation and present reality
- Options: exploring options to move forward that can achieve the goals
- Ways forward: setting practical actions to implement the chosen options
The key principle is that the coach has the role of assisting the coachee to develop and grow. The coach is not there to have all the answers, but to help the coachee find their own answers.
